The concept of Black Community Resource Centre (B.C.R.C.) dates back to 1994. At that time members of the Montreal Black Community, along with various government representatives discussed the need to address the continuing underachievement of young English-speaking Black Montrealers. B.C.R.C. is the culmination of these efforts. The Centre has been in existence since 1995 and has been operating out of its present offices at 6767 Côte-des-Neiges since 1996.
